The Danish Microbiological Society is proud to introduce DMS MicroTalks – a new series of scientific talks covering all areas of microbiology. These talks are organized locally by DMS members but are available to all members of the Danish Microbiological Society, either through physical attendance, virtual participation, or both.

The Danish Society for Microbiology would like to draw your attention to the following open Microbiology Seminar at the University of Copenhagen.
Professor Eugene V. Koonin, NIH Distinguished Investigator at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA, will give a lecture entitled
“The world of viruses and its evolution”.
The lecture will present an overview of the global organisation and evolution of the virus world, based on recent advances in comparative genomics and metagenomics, including the latest virus taxonomy approved by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses.
Date and time: Thursday 23 April 2026, 13:00–14:00
Venue: Auditorium A, Section of Microbiology, University of Copenhagen, Universitetsparken 15
Participation is possible both in person and online via Zoom.
