The objective of DMS
The Danish Microbiological Society (DMS) was established in 1958 and is a representative in the international organizations for microbiology the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS) and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS). On the national level, DMS' primary function is as a contact point for national microbiological activities, and DMS has a vote at the IUMS and FEMS meetings, at which among other things bacterial nomenclature is determined. Thus, the Society's most essential activities are to represent Denmark internationally and to maintain genuine national influence in matters that are determined internationally.
In addition, the function of DMS is to initiate scientific meetings in microbiology and related fields.
As its primary means of communication, the Society uses its homepage www.dmselskab.dk, and, in order to contact its member and other interested parties, e-mail.
