The Danish Microbiological Society is a society for everybody who is concerned with microbiology. A number of advantages is included in the membership of DMS.
FEMS: DMS is member of FEMS (Federation of European Microbiological Societies). This means that members of DMS automatically become members of FEMS with the below benefits:
- Discount off the registration fee for FEMS congresses
- 25% discount off Oxford University Press books
- Possibility to apply for FEMS grants
E-mails to members: Members of DMS receives e-mails with information about microbiological arrangements taking place in bothDenmark and other countries. As an example the information can be about conferences, lectures and Ph.D. defences. That is, the e-mails are sent out in order to hold members updated with future microbiological events.
Congress: Every year DMS arrange a congress. Participants in the congress will be updated about the newest research in several different microbiological fields. To the congress lecturers are invited both from Denmark and from foreign countries. Furthermore short oral presentations and poster presentations will be chosen among the abstracts submitted by members of DMS. Furthermore the congress is a really good opportunity to meet other microbiologists and exchange experiences. Read more about the congress here.
Annual general meeting: The annual general meeting of DMS is hold in connection with another microbiological arrangement. Members of DMS can participate in both the general annual meeting as well as the following/connected microbiological arrangement.
Arrangements in co-operation with DM: DMS is part of the scientific forum in Dansk Magisterforening. The scientific forum is established in2012. In the long term members of DMS can participate in the events in the scientific forum. Members of DMS can participate in these arrangements without being members of Dansk Magisterforening.
DMS travelling grant: The DMS travelling grant is given two times annually. The travelling grants amounts 5000 DKK each. Only bachelor and master students who are members of DMS can apply for the DMS travelling grant.
